Mohit asked:

I’m giving a few books to a girl who is in third grade but has a first-grade reading level. Should I give her first grade books, second grade books, or third grade books? What’s going to improve her reading level? Does anyone have any suggestions that I could easily find at Barnes and Noble tonight. As for the type of book, anything goes, but I want 1 or 2 books about puppies because that is one thing that I know she likes.

if you’re a girl or into chick-lits then i recommend the shopaholic novels by sophie kinsella, theyre all hilarious and fun reads and nicholas sparks’ books are all good

or you should go read the alchemist, and jane austen novel..

in the end it really depends on what genre you prefer. i hope i helped! =D

Why not get a few of the classics? My favorites are To Kill a Mockingbird, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The HObbit, Girl of the Limberlost, Treasure Island, and The Scarlett Letter.

  • Pip:

That depends entirely on what sort of books you enjoy reading. My recommendation goes to A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole, since I think it’s a great book with broad appeal.

It would help us if you gave your age and interests. Anyway, here goes:

Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book, and a “reader’s choice” list of favorite books.

If that doesn’t work, try this: – just select your favorite genre. Books are ranked according to how many awards they’ve won. Although this gives an advantage to more recent books, your not likely to find a crappy book in the top ten of any of these lists.

    I hope this helps.

    Jim,
